Normally one expects snow and ice in Yosemite Valley in January. I was surprised by a beautiful rainbow on Lower Yosemite Fall last Friday. I used a 200mm lens on a C-sensor camera to capture this image.
Enjoy!

I went to the San Luis National Wildlife Refuge the other day to try out my new ‘walk around’ camera, a Sony a6000. I was very disappointed at the number of birds and wildlife I saw. It is a large refuge and I literally saw only about a dozen geese and comparatively few other fowl. This great egret was one of three and very patient. I actually wanted to get a photo of him taking off but he just stood there and stared at me.

Water is precious in California. We were happy about the rain last night. It was not very much but it cleared the air somewhat. I noticed the beautiful light this morning and I decided to photograph the rose in my front yard. I used a white reflector to illuminate the rose from the bottom.
Enjoy and keep on working on your images!
