Two guys and a gal

I went to the Tulelake Wildlife Refuge a while back. Not much there, it was clearly the wrong time of the year. After driving around a while I came across these three Comorants. They were very obliging and actually swam towards me.

Ich war vor einiger Zeit im Tulelake Wildlife Refuge. Nicht viel dort, es war eindeutig die falsche Jahreszeit. Nachdem ich eine Weile herumgefahren war, stieß ich auf diese drei Komoren. Sie waren sehr zuvorkommend und schwammen tatsächlich auf mich zu.

Flugshow

So ein Weißkopfseeadler ist schon eine imposante Erscheinung. Diesen hier kann man im Zoo Hannover mehrmals täglich bei seinem Flugtraining bewundern.

Such a bald eagle is already an impressive appearance. This one can be admired several times a day during his flight training at Hannover Zoo.

Der Hildesheimer Dom

Im zweiten Weltkrieg wurde der Dom bis auf die Grundmauern zerstört und von 1950 bis 1960 wieder aufgebaut. Im Obergeschoss des Kreuzgangs findet man viel Ruhe, um seinen Gedanken freien Lauf zu lassen.

During the Second World War the cathedral was destroyed down to its foundations and rebuilt from 1950 to 1960. In the upper floor of the cloister you will find a lot of peace and quiet to let your thoughts run free.

Hansen’s Delphinium

The Hansen’s Delphinium is a rather obscure long stemmed plant with very small flowers that go rather unnoticed until you study the flowers that are really quite delicate and beautiful. They tend to grow in clusters of 3 to 4 stems in a very small area. This is just another example of the beautiful wildflowers that grow in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Enjoy your day.

Sundial Bridge Support

I went to Northern California the other day. On the way I stopped at the Sundial Bridge in Redding, CA. This is the bridge support, the guide wires hold up the center of the bridge. There is also a great botanical garden there. While some areas were roped off and I may have been a little early I had a great few hours there. If you’re in the area be sure and stop by.

Ich bin neulich nach Nordkalifornien gefahren. Auf dem Weg hielt ich an der Sundial Bridge in Redding, Kalifornien. Dies ist die Brückenhalterung, die Führungsdrähte halten die Mitte der Brücke. Dort gibt es auch einen tollen botanischen Garten. Während einige Bereiche abgeseilt waren und ich vielleicht ein wenig zu früh war, hatte ich ein paar Stunden dort. Wenn Sie in der Gegend sind, seien Sie sicher und schauen Sie vorbei.
