Isolation

Photography has the power to reflect the situation we are living in. Currently COVID 19 is determining our lives in many ways. One key factor is isolation in order to prevent spreading the virus. Let’s not forget that isolation can lead to loneliness and depression.
Stay healthy and reach out to a person In isolation. That is the message of this image!

Passion for music

Am vergangenen Sonntag trat die Leibziger Sängerin und Pianistin June Cocó in der Autostadt auf. Ich muss gestehen, ich kannte sie vorher nicht. Aber ihre Stimme und ihre Musik haben mich sofort in ihren Bann gezogen. Trotz schon herbstlicher Temperaturen habe ich mich hingesetzt und ihr zugehört. Also, ich fand es toll. Hört sie euch einfach mal selbst an.
Last Sunday the Leibziger singer and pianist June Cocó performed in the Autostadt. I must confess, I did not know her before. But her voice and her music immediately captivated me. Despite the already autumnal temperatures I sat down and listened to her. Well, I thought it was great. Just listen to her yourself.

Fall in the Eastern Sierras

I don’t know any photographers who don’t enjoy taking photos in the fall and especially when colorful trees and water can be combined in the image. I had taken this photo several years ago and had not revisited it until recently. I particularly like the autumn leaves and the gently slowed water in the creek, but also the two stumps in the water, the mini waterfall between the two larger rocks and the pathway on the far side of the creek. Enjoy!

Emotions

Our periodic assignment was emotions, a difficult subject. For several years I was the official photographer(and free volunteer) for our local wagon train event. A repeat of a historical journey across our local mountains in wagons and on horseback from the 1800’s. Four days of overnight camping bonfires, story telling, cowboy poetry and old time country music. This gentleman along with his large family would provide some of that wonderful old country music. The whole family would participate from the very young 5 year olds to grandpa who probably was in his late 80’s and who I presume was this gentleman’s father, and several in between. When grandpa stepped up to the microphone and began singing his story to music, the gentleman above stopped playing his guitar and watched him and listened to him intently. It was like he was trying to imprint this moment on his brain The love and respect seen here was reflected in all the faces of family members and the faces sitting around the campfire. It was an impressive moment. Stay healthy.

Joy and Friendship

When the assignment for ‘Emotion’ was given I almost immediately thought of the smile on these folks faces. They’re actually all contributors to this blog. Far left is Friedhelm, then Dorothy and finally one of our newest members, Valerie. It was a great day and I hope we can do it again soon.

Als der Auftrag für ‘Emotion’ gegeben wurde, dachte ich fast sofort an das Lächeln auf den Gesichtern dieser Leute. Sie sind eigentlich alle Mitwirkende an diesem Blog. Ganz links ist Friedhelm, dann Dorothy und schließlich eines unserer neuesten Mitglieder, Valerie. Es war ein großartiger Tag und ich hoffe, wir können es bald wieder tun.
