Weihnachtspyramiden

Naja, genaugenommen sind dies eher Varianten der im Original aus Holz geschnitzten Weihnachtspyramiden. Aber bei mir kamen bei diesem Anblick gleich Kindheitserinnerungen hoch. Wir hatten nämlich früher auch eine aus Messingblech gefertigte Weihnachtspyramide, an der sich, ähnlich einem Kettenkarusell und angetrieben durch die Wärme der Kerzen, kleine Engel drehten. Diese hier habe ich in einem Schaufenster in Bad Lauterberg im Harz entdeckt. Ich wünsche allen ein schönes und vor allen Dingen friedliches Weihnachtsfest.
Well, strictly speaking, these are rather variants of the original Christmas pyramids carved from wood. But with me came at this sight equal childhood memories up. We had in the past also a Christmas pyramid made of sheet brass, on which, similar to a chain carousel and driven by the heat of the candles, small angels rotated. This one I discovered in a shop window in Bad Lauterberg in the Harz Mountains. I wish everyone a wonderful and above all peaceful Christmas.

Manch ein Balkon ist üppig geschmückt, andere eher etwas zurückhaltend. 🙂

Merry Christmas

The icy winters made famous in the paintings of Brueghel belong to the past. In fact, when he lived, there was what was called a little ice age. So we have to be content with a couple of white days, which usually pass quickly. Nevertheless….. for everybody: Merry Christmas and a happy new year from the Netherlands.

Gathered Crows

The other day there were hundreds of crows swarming the entire area and flying through the skies. I saw this tree filled with them and quickly took a few pictures and captured this one with the crow flying mid-air. I also thought that the black and white coloring gives this image a creepier appearance. Enjoy!
