Osterwieck, eine kleine Stadt im Harzvorland, ist ein wahres Schmuckstück des Fachwerkbaus. Es lohnt sich, dort durch die Straßen zu bummeln. 376 historische Gebäude existieren heute noch, wovon viele vor dem 30jährigen Krieg gebaut wurden. Viele der Häuser sind schon toll restauriert, oder zumindest durch Sicherungsmaßnahmen vor dem Verfall geschützt. Osterwieck, a small town in the Harz foothills, is a true gem of half-timbered architecture. It is worth strolling through the streets there. 376 historic buildings still exist today, many of which were built before the 30-year war. Many of the houses have already been restored, or at least protected from decay by security measures.
