On my first ocean cruise, we were reaching Ketchikan with 4 other floating Cruise Ships (aka … Floating Cities). Each of those Floaters can have up to 3000 – 4000 and more passengers on board. Add crew members, the little town of Ketchikan with its roughly 9000 inhabitants becomes a floating wonderland for a couple of hours. All photos by iPhone.

From atop one of the cruise ships, it looks like that….

Walking into town, we encounter many shops that all close when the tourists leave to get back onto their floating cities.

Walking the piers along the old town red light district…

Eventually, if you made it through the red light district from the GOOD OLD DAYS, you get to the museum of the original people. Plenty of stories about their culture and language and also how those Natives were mistreated by the only One God Loving People ….
