Was entzückt das Publikum denn hier? Der blaue VW GTI, ein leicht bekleidetes Model? Nichts von dem, einfach nur der Motorsound und zwar der von der ohrenbetäubenden Sorte. Den Kommentaren nach wohl sowas, wie Beethofens Neunte für GTI-Fans.
What is delighting the audience here? The blue VW GTI, a scantily clad model? None of that, just the engine sound – the deafening kind. Judging by the comments, probably something like Beethoven’s Ninth for GTI fans.
Watching the Olympics in Paris on TV made me want to look back at pictures I took there 3 years ago. Here is some Paris Architecture to go with this month’s photo theme.
Am vergangenen Wochenende fand das GTI-Fan-Fest nicht wie in früheren Jahren am Wörthersee/Österreich sondern rund um die Volkswagen-Arena/Wolfsburg statt. Und es gab eine Menge zu sehen, so wie diese für Rennen umgebauten Exemplare.
Last weekend, the GTI Fan Festival took place around the Volkswagen Arena in Wolfsburg rather than at Lake Wörthersee in Austria as in previous years. And there was a lot to see, like these cars converted for racing.
Zeche Zollverein – a coal mine in Essen, Germany, is now an industrial museum, showing its harsh beauty in sunny environment.
Frequently I see beautiful pictures of Yosemite here. The valley behind the Swiss village of Lauterbrunnen is sometimes called Swiss Yosemite. Like there several cascades come down the high cliffs. And not unlike Yosemite the place is very well known by visitors from all over the world.

On rural roads in Canada and Alaska, sometimes hidden behind trees and bushes, I found a variety of buildings in the last stages of their existence.
However, the beauty of these buildings is undeniable.
It’s actually two glacier arms meeting right at the waters edge. Cruising along the Fjord, you can see majestic waterfalls, rugged mountains, and seals taking a ride on little icebergs away from the glacier towards the ocean.

Recently I had the opportunity to photograph at the Mission San Juan Capistrano in Southern California. I photographed at the Mission before and decided to direct my attention to the people that are visiting and walking through the beautiful gardens, the church and the ruins.
