You used to find these all over, especially in cities. Now you only find them in places like YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK!!!!!!!

Anke hatte ja gestern bereits die zur Fußgängerbrücke umgebaute, alte Eisenbahnbrücke über die Elbe gezeigt. Meine Bilder zeigen nun den Blick von der Brücke auf die Silhouette von Magdeburg. Hier wird noch mal deutlich, wie dominant dieser Dom das Stadtbild bestimmt.

Yesterday, Anke had already shown the old railroad bridge over the Elbe, which has been converted into a pedestrian bridge. My pictures now show the view from the bridge onto the silhouette of Magdeburg. Here you can see once again how dominant this cathedral is in the cityscape.

Über die Elbe

Diese denkmalgeschützte Hubbrücke in Magdeburg ist eine eingleisige Eisenbahnbrücke und wurde 2013 saniert. Eine große Spendenaktion machte es möglich. Sie ist heute fest arretiert und für Fußgänger und Radfahrer nutzbar.

This listed lift bridge in Magdeburg is a single-track railroad bridge and was renovated in 2013. A major fundraising campaign made it possible. It is now firmly locked in place and can be used by pedestrians and cyclists
