November?

November in Germany is actually a foggy, dreary month in which it is cold and wet. The leaves are off the trees, the wind whistles through the streets. In short, a weather for cuddly blanket and couch. Usually. That’s how it looked on Monday on our round through the forest.

With a length of 130 cm from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail, the otter is not that small. Nevertheless, you will hardly get to see the nimble and skillful hunter in the wild. Fortunately, there is the Otter Center Hankensbüttel near us. There you can observe otters and other marten animals in natural enclosures. This makes it a bit easier to photograph the nimble animals. But only a little bit.

Einblicke

Anke and I were out and about in Gardelegen on Sunday. Gardelegen is an old Hanseatic town in Saxony-Anhalt, not far from Wolfsburg. I find the windows of such antique and junk stores particularly interesting, where there is a lot to discover. I just can’t walk past them without taking a photo.

Saisonwechsel

I was in the Autostadt again a few days ago. Autumn is a time when it gets much quieter here. On the one hand. On the other hand, the reconstruction for the winter season starts now. Many busy hands are converting the lagoon landscape into a huge ice rink and winter landscape. A good opportunity to take a closer look at the technical side.

Herbstliche Impressionen

The fascinating thing about autumn is the light and the colors. These days when the sun shines, you have to take advantage and capture this mood. Anke and I went to our neighboring town Oebisfelde on Sunday and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Of course, also a good opportunity to capture a few impressions from Oebisfelde with the camera.

Helix pomatia

This is the scientific name of the Roman snail. This specimen had strayed onto a footpath through the Ilkerbruch, a nature reserve near us. To be on the safe side, the snail had retreated into its snail shell. So we could only photograph its house. It is also quite beautiful.

Sonnenblumen

My neighbor had planted several varieties of sunflowers in our front yard by the house this year. It was a great sight. Unfortunately, the splendor is now already faded.
