Mt. Shasta

I took a trip to Northern California for a small family reunion. I had a little time one morning an took a trip up Everett Memorial Highway to the old ski bowl on Mt. Shasta. The first photo is on the way up, the second from 7800 feet looking south.

Für ein kleines Familientreffen unternahm ich eine Reise nach Nordkalifornien. Eines Morgens hatte ich etwas Zeit und machte einen Ausflug den Everett Memorial Highway hinauf zum alten Skibowl am Mt. Shasta. Das erste Foto ist auf dem Weg nach oben, das zweite aus 7800 Fuß Höhe mit Blick nach Süden.

Merced Wildlife Refuge

Went to the Refuge the other day. They’re beginning to flood some of the areas and the various birds are arriving. I know the first one isn’t a bird and I posted an image of a Dragonfly last week but that one was, umm, static. This one I took while it was hovering in mid air.

Bin neulich zum Refugium gegangen. Sie beginnen, einige Gebiete zu überschwemmen und die verschiedenen Vögel kommen an. Ich weiß, dass das erste kein Vogel ist und ich habe letzte Woche ein Bild einer Libelle gepostet, aber dieses war, ähm, statisch. Dieses habe ich aufgenommen, während es in der Luft schwebte.

Dragon Fly and Wings

While on my exercise walk the other day I spotted this deceased Dragon Fly and proceeded to walk home carefully carrying it in my hand. I especially liked the delicacy of the wings.

Als ich neulich auf meinem Übungsspaziergang war, entdeckte ich diese verstorbene Libelle und ging vorsichtig mit ihr in der Hand nach Hause. Besonders gut hat mir die Feinheit der Flügel gefallen.

Backroad to Raymond

Friedhelm and I took a little trip in the Sierra foothills to Raymond. After taking the good (wrong) road, (my fault) going we took (Friedhelm’s) the correct way back. It really was a great evening and fun photographing.

Friedhelm und ich machten einen kleinen Ausflug in die Ausläufer der Sierra nach Raymond. Nachdem wir den guten (falschen) Weg (meine Schuld) genommen hatten, nahmen wir (Friedhelms) den richtigen Weg zurück. Es war wirklich ein toller Abend und das Fotografieren hat Spaß gemacht.

Music

Having little music talent and I haven’t been to a concert in quite a while I dropped by the Gottschalk Music Center in Merced and they were kind enough to let me wander and take a few photos.

Da ich wenig musikalisches Talent hatte und schon eine ganze Weile nicht mehr auf einem Konzert war, schaute ich beim Gottschalk Music Center in Merced vorbei und sie waren so freundlich, mich herumlaufen und ein paar Fotos machen zu lassen.
