Oben ist die Sankt Lamberti Kirche und das Flüsschen Aller zu sehen, unten die Schlossruine von Weferlingen. Für die Bildgestaltung bot sich hier für mich der typische Postkartenlook geradezu an. Gestern habe ich das schöne Wetter für eine Runde durch den Schlosspark genutzt. Der Park wird auch als Aus-und Aufstellungsfläche für Kunstobjekte genutzt, wobei ganz bewußt mit dem Kontrast zwischen alter Parkanlage im Stil englischer Landschaftsparks und moderner Kunst gespielt wird. Diese Pflanzbeete bekommen durch ihre Edelstahleinfassungen einen futuristischen Look. Das Ganze wirkt wie eine Ansammlung großer Kristalle oder Glassplitter, je nach Lichteinfall. So wie hier Sankt Adrian, eine kleine Dorfkirche im Wolfsburger Ortsteil Heiligendorf. Sie stammt aus dem Jahr 1153 und ist seit 1534 eine evangelische Kirche. In der Nähe unserer Nachbarstadt Helmstedt gibt es die “Lübbensteine”, eine ca. 6.000 Jahre alte Großgrabanlage. Diese Gräber darf man sich nicht als Fürstengräber vorstellen, sondern sie waren eher Familiengruften, die über Jahrhunderte in Gebrauch waren. Es ist schon beeindruckend , wenn man bedenkt, dass diese tonnenschweren Steine von den Menschen seinerzeit nur mit Muskelkraft bewegt worden sind. Das untere Bild zeigt das Innere der nördlichen Grabanlage. Near our neighboring town of Helmstedt there are the “Lübbensteine”, a large grave complex about 6,000 years old. These graves must not be imagined as princely tombs, but they were rather family crypts, which were in use for centuries. Letzte Woche habe ich mal das schöne Wetter ausgenutzt und bin ein wenig in der Gegend rumgefahren. Südöstlich von Wolfsburg gibt es die Kiesgruben von Uhry, in denen weißer Quarzsand gefördert wird. Das leuchtende Weiß des Sandes und das leuchtend türkisfarbene Wasser bilden zusammen schon eine beindruckende Szenerie. Last week I took advantage of the nice weather and drove around a bit.
