Rechts das von der Star-Architektin Zaha Hadid entworfene Phaeno, eine Experimentierlandschaft die Wissenschaft spielerisch näher bringt, links moderne Hotels. Und dazwischen, klein und im Hintergrund, der alte Bahnhof. Ein Bild wie ein Zeitstrahl.
On the right is the Phaeno, designed by star architect Zaha Hadid, an experimental landscape that brings science closer in a playful way, on the left modern hotels. And in between, small and in the background, the old railway station. A picture like a timeline.

Heiliger Hain

Vorletzten Sonntag waren Anke, Friedhelm und ich im “Heiligen Hain”, einer Heidelandschaft nördlich von Wolfsburg unterwegs. Es ist gerade zur Heideblüte ein beliebtes Ausflugs-und Wandergebiet.
The penultimate Sunday Anke, Friedhelm and I were in the “Heiligen Hain”, a heath landscape north of Wolfsburg. It is a popular excursion and hiking area especially during the heather blossom.

Teufelsmauer II

Ankes Bild gestern zeigte ja bereits die sogenannte Teufelsmauer im Harz mit dem Verlauf Richtung Westen.  Mein Bild heute habe ich am gleichen Tag und fast vom gleichen Standpunkt aufgenommen, allerdings genau in die entgegen gesetzte Richtung. Bei Sonnenuntergangn leuchten die Felsen dann wie Gold.

Anke’s picture yesterday already showed the so-called Devil’s Wall in the Harz Mountains with its course to the west. Today I took my picture on the same day and from almost the same point of view, but exactly in the opposite direction. At sunset the rocks glow like gold.

Kontrastprogramm

Anke erwähnte gestern bereits den Sandstrand in der Autostadt. Hier ist er nun auch im Bild. Bei den zur Zeit herrschenden Temperaturen bietet das kleine Strandbad herrliche Erfrischung im ehemaligen Hafenbecken.

Anke already mentioned the sandy beach in the Autostadt yesterday. Here he is now also in the picture. With the current temperatures, the small lido offers wonderful refreshment in the former harbour basin.
