Daffodils 05

In this image I put one Daffodil in focus and it is also the only flower that is sharp and complete. This daffodil is the “hero” the one that you have to look to. It is sometimes very interesting to create a “hero” in your images.

Enjoy and have a great week-end!

Daffodils 02

My wife bought a bunch of Daffodils and I picked three and I arranged them  from closed, little open to about half open. As a backdrop I used my light box and I used two 5600 kelvin light bulbs. Then I took eight exposures from 1/30 to 4 seconds all at f22 (Needles to say that I used a tripod). In post production I layered all eight exposures and created an image using different blending modes. The I gave it a final touch with Nik Color Efix pro to arrive at this image. I had in mind to create an image with vibrant colors and texture.

Enjoy and keep on photographing!

Daffodils 01

During Spring you will find Daffodils everywhere. They are also cheap to purchase and you will find many images of them online. This is a challenge and opportunity to create great images. Try to photograph and create images that you don’t see every day. think about your composition, work at your images and create great images.

When I researched Daffodils on a search engine, many images in full bloom showed up. Why not creating an image when they are still closed? I photographed these Daffodils in a flower bed in front of a house. Enjoy and keep your creative juices flowing!
