This regal heron was posed on an elevated mound for me at the Merced Wildlife Refuge.  And the tall dried plant framed him beautifully.

Yosemite in the fall is glorious.  I love it there.

We will shortly be approaching my favorite time of the year.  I truly love fall with its beautiful colors and cooler temps.  And fall in the sierras is spectacular.  This was taken near June Lake, Ca.  Enjoy and have a wonderful day.

There is a small pond located nearby that offers some wonderful photographic opportunities and except for the occasional vehicle that insists on interrupting me to get to their destination, it is a perfect spot to capture more of Mother Natures beautiful work.   Have a wonderful day.

 

Mother Nature always amazes me with her profound artistry.  You can see her paintings everywhere.  All you have to do is look.

Lupine’s come in  many varieties that are different shades of lavender and purple and sometimes pink but he Harlequin has the most unique coloring with its  mix of yellow,  pink, lavender and purple. It is not as common or abundant as the ones usually seen growing in the fields of the mid to higher elevations of the Sierra-Nevada so it is always a lovely surprise.

I am blessed to live on a piece of property that can sometimes produce prolific wildflowers.  This is an Owl’s clover, a very beautiful and colorful plant. Have a wonderful day.

While normally upright and open, I found these on a morning outing after it had rained during the night.  I loved the appearance of the gracefully drooping flowers and the delicate look of the petals with the rain drops.

I love the  contrasts and colors and lines in this old log with the addition of color from the wildflowers.  Have a pleasant day!

 

 

Another interesting wildflower in our central sierra-nevada mountain range.   I have found it at the low to mid elevations of 3000 to 5000 ft. Sometimes in a small group, but more often as a single stem growing sparsely in a small area.
