Fashion Design by Guo Pei
”Fantasy is the height of your spirit. It is the most important part of life because it fuels its meaning.” Guo Pei
Today I had the opportunity to photograph some incredible dress collection by Guo Pei at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco. It took up to ten thousand hours of manual labor to create some of these master pieces of haute couture.
Camera Gear
My first single reflex camera was a Minolta. Over the years my Minolta camera gear grew quite a bit. For our ”Still Life” project I picked three lenses, bellows for macro photography, a lens box and a film. As a background I picked a book cabinet and I decided to lay the camera equipment on a black fabric. In order to illuminate my subject properly I used window light from the left hand side and a weaker video light on the right hand side. I photographed the still life with a Tamron 80-200 vintage lens and a full frame camera. Enjoy!

Downtown Gilroy
Gilroy, CA is a small town south of San Francisco. It is considered the “Garlic Capital” of the USA because of the garlic processing plants in the area. You can eat garlic fries or even garlic ice cream here. I discovered some interesting buildings on the Main Street like this one. Enjoy!
