The are random images of Merced’s street. I mounted the camera on a selfi stick and used the interval function of the camera to record an image every three seconds while I was biking through town. In post I picked these images and created the collage. Enjoy!

Making Music – Playing Conga Drums
“Music” is quite difficult to photograph since you can’t see it. Therefore I wanted as much as possible a blurry picture. When you listen to music time passes so I decided on motion blur. Then I experimented with the exposure time. I had the camera mounted on a tripod and settled for 1/10 of a second. Next consideration was the light source. I experimented with a video light and two light wands. I used purple light on one of the wands to create a contrast between hands and body. Finally I converted the image to black and white. Again the idea was to take away as much as possible visual elements. Enjoy!
Halloween is coming
Seen in Merced, CA. Enjoy!
Flower Corso
The Westland is an area north-west of Rotterdam in the Netherlands. It is the Dutch main producer of flowers, fruits and vegetables. Most of it is covered with greenhouses and endless rows of terraced houses. Environmentally, it is probably one of the most destroyed areas in Europe, but on the other hand they produce highly efficient with a minimum use of land and resources. Once a year they try to improve their image with a flower corso of several days. More than 40 boats are decorated with their local products. Mostly their topics follow contemporary media favorites, but sometimes they also refer to environmental or political issues. This year, for three days the boats drifted through the canals for 7-8 hours a day, quite a challenge in the heat of the hottest June weekend ever.
Coal Collage
When we were camping at Azalea campground I found several small pieces of wood that were completely black. I picked some of the pieces and arranged them on top of a metal bear box. Then I started photographing. Enjoy!
Lost Places: Former Shooting Range at Fort Ord
Thousands of Infanterie man were trained at Fort Ord, located at the central California coast. The wooden tower was the place where the officer in charge stood and supervised the rifle training.
1994 the Ford was closed and today it is a National Monument. Enjoy!
Homage to Ruth Bernhard
I found some expired anti acid pills and some I connected them with Ruth Bernhard’s Livesaver image which she created in 1930. I decided to create arrangements with the anti acid pills and then I started photographing. Enjoy!
Pygmy Forest
A pygmy or dwarf forest can develop where there is a certain soil concentration. The vegetation looks unusual and maybe from a different planet. I photographed these trees and shrubs at the Pygmy forest at Salt Point State Park in Northern California. Enjoy!
Veterans day
Once a year the Dutch king rewards his veterans for their heroic deeds. In a long parade they march through town. Especially impressive are the many military bands with their shining instruments. There even is a Dutch bagpipe military band.
