New Leaves on my Pomegranate Tree

My pomegranate tree has new leaves. I photographed them after sunset using a continuous light source that I normally use for videos. The advantage of this light is that you can regulate the color temperature.

Weißer Sand

Letzte Woche habe ich mal das schöne Wetter ausgenutzt und bin ein wenig in der Gegend rumgefahren. Südöstlich von Wolfsburg gibt es die Kiesgruben von Uhry, in denen weißer Quarzsand gefördert wird. Das leuchtende Weiß des Sandes und das leuchtend türkisfarbene Wasser bilden zusammen schon eine beindruckende Szenerie.
Last week I took advantage of the nice weather and drove around a bit. Southeast of Wolfsburg there are the gravel pits of Uhry, where white quartz sand is mined. The bright white of the sand and the bright turquoise water together already form an impressive scenery.

Überwintert ?

Nach und nach zeigen sich die ersten Frühblüher in den Gärten. Aber diese drollige Herbstdeko hat offensichtlich überwintert.

Little by little, the first early bloomers appear in the gardens. But this droll autumn decoration obviously hibernated.

Mother and Child

I visited an arboretum in Superior, Arizona recently. It was too early in the season to get many flower pictures, but I found this statue of a Native American Mother and Child tucked back in a shaded area surrounded by trees and plants native to the area. They were the highlight of my day.

Reflections

I took this photo while walking along the canal bank near my home. I think that the reflection of the cloudy sky in the water made for an interesting image. Enjoy!

Mariposa Sunsets.

This is a view I pass every time I travel to town. It’s one of the advantages of living in a mountain community. I never tire of the nature around me. Sometimes the views are just a little more spectacular than others. Again, my favorite time to head out with my camera, no matter where I am. Spectacular sunsets can change even the dullest or ugliest landscapes into something of bauty. Stay healthy everyone!!!

Vertical Garden – or … “The Future has arrived”

If you need a garden in which nobody tramples or lays down, and you have no space around your house, here you have it! Even deers like it better… only dogs might be pissed. I have to say, if I would be into gardening, I might create one at the house. Looks pretty!

Bear Gulch Reservoir

Pinnacle National Park is one of the newer National Parks. It’s a great place to hike anytime but the summer where it can be extremely hot. The trails go from easy to strenuous and cover wide range of elevations offering wonderful views of the surrounding area. The only year round water source is the Bear Gulch Reservoir. A great place to relax before more exploration.

Der Pinnacle National Park ist einer der neueren Nationalparks. Es ist ein großartiger Ort zum Wandern, aber im Sommer, wo es extrem heiß sein kann. Die Wege verlaufen von leicht bis anstrengend und decken eine Vielzahl von Höhen ab, die einen herrlichen Blick auf die Umgebung bieten. Die einzige ganzjährige Wasserquelle ist der Bear Gulch Reservoir. Ein großartiger Ort zum Entspannen vor weiteren Erkundungen.
