Old Equipment
I like old things, locomotives, equipment, buildings and the like. Except for locomotives Bodie gives me plenty of opportunities to photograph such things. Each time I go there I try and take a little different perspective and learn from past ‘mistakes’.
Ich mag alte Sachen, Lokomotiven, Ausrüstung, Gebäude und dergleichen. Mit Ausnahme von Lokomotiven bietet Bodie mir viele Möglichkeiten, solche Dinge zu fotografieren. Jedes Mal, wenn ich dorthin gehe, versuche ich, eine etwas andere Perspektive einzunehmen und aus früheren „Fehlern“ zu lernen.
Light Dances
I used a large mirror, a glass ball and a flashlight to create this image. I put the mirror on the ground and a glass ball in the middle of it. I attached a string to the small flashlight And used it like a pendulum over the ball and the mirror while I was exposing and creating interesting images.

Raffinierte Verteidigung
This butterfly is a peacock butterfly. It frightens its predators with deceptively real looking eyes on its back. The longer you look at them, the more real these “painted on” eyes look and you think you are looking into an animal’s face. Amazing.

Peeking Mountains
This past weekend I was able to make it up to my family’s cabin and escape the smoke from the valley. Thankfully, the air was fairly clear up there and I was able to go on a hike and capture this image. Enjoy!

Fawn Lily
One of the advantages of having a camera with you is if you’re on a hike and get a little tired you can stop and photograph. I was lucky coming up the hill from visiting the Tuolumne Grove of Redwoods that if you looked around there were numerous opportunities, you just had to look for them. This is a Fawn Lily and I only saw a few in a small area.

I created 4 exposures from normal range to + 4ev to create a high key stack. Then I combined the images in post production to create this image. Enjoy
