Spring Wildflowers
Spring in Black and White
Last week I posted a colorful flower for our spring flower week. This week I’m posting a very bright yellow flower but I turned it into Black and White. Since last week was spring flower week I thought color was more appropriate.
Purple Daisy
In order to bring out the beauty of this single purple Daisy I increased the contrast twofold. First I added a spotlight effect onto the center of the Daisy. Second I darkened and slightly blurred the green background.
Enjoy the image and keep on photographing!

In Bloom
Captured this image of these beautiful wild flowers up in the Sanger country. During the springtime, everything appears repainted after a colorless, cold winter. It’s a time for new beginnings. Enjoy!
Heralds of Spring
Survivor
This flower has a lot of meaning for me, more than just a pretty flower. I got rid of my front lawn and put in a low maintenance yard two years ago. Last year, wanting to spruce it up a bit I added a number of planters, forgetting about our summer heat which ‘cooked’ and killed many of the potted plants.
This one is a survivor. There wasn’t much left but I dug a hole in the ground and planted it expecting to have to replace it this year. Low and behold it seems to be thriving and hopefully will be okay in the ground instead of a pot. If you know the name let me know. I lost the little tag.
Poppies and Fiddlenecks
In preparation of our Spring flower week next week I am sharing this image that I created at the National Poppy Reserve in Antelope Valley in the Mojave Desert in southern California.
Enjoy and keep on photographing!
