Yesterday, June 23, 2018 I photographed “Cottonwood Creek” in Mariposa, CA. This image looks like a composition out of two images. It is not. I used a prism in front of my 50 mm lens to create this image.

Another interesting wildflower in our central sierra-nevada mountain range. I have found it at the low to mid elevations of 3000 to 5000 ft. Sometimes in a small group, but more often as a single stem growing sparsely in a small area.

I have found this interesting bush at elevations of around 3000 to 4000 feet on some of our remote roads. The petals have an almost wax like appearance while the leaves have a soft coating. A very colorful bush when in bloom
One of my favorite places is an old ghost town on the Eastern side of the
Sierras near Mono Lake.
It’s Bodie State Park and is an old deserted (except for Park Rangers) mining town with lots of the old character still intack. I took this a year or so ago, and hope to make it back there real soon. I like how the cloud point to the old building.
