Back Portraits 07

back-portraits-07.jpg

I photographed this gentleman yesterday during my lunch break while I was waiting for my wife. The weather is very nice and people are sitting more outside. This creates great opportunities for every photographer.

Enjoy and keep on photographing!

Back Portraits 06

These young women were setting up a video camera. It was for me the opportunity to get a nice back portrait with their bags.

Enjoy and keep on creating great images!

Back Portraits 05

This is actually a sad image. I observed this “normal” looking woman going through the trash cans. She was surrounded by a group of spectators and tourists that were watching a street dancer performing on Market Street in San Francisco. What a shame that a person has to go through trash cans to make a living!

Some times photography is more than just taking images. Images can be very powerful and transmit messages. There is a reason why we say that a picture speaks a thousand words!

Enjoy and keep on photographing!

Back Portraits 04

I photographed this “noble” man at a local Celtic fair. Fairs offer great opportunities to photograph people.

Enjoy and keep on photographing!

Back Portraits 03

back-portraits-03.jpg

I photographed this gentleman cleaning a large window. There is nobody looking at him like in yesterday’s image but the reflection of his face in the window creates the same effect than yesterday’s image. My eyes are wandering back and forth from the head to the reflection.

Enjoy and keep on creating interesting images!

Back Portraits 02

back-portraits-02.jpg

I photographed this street dancer while a bunch of people were watching him performing. Even if the person on the right hand side is totally out of focus my eyes are wandering back and forth from the dancer to that person. This gives this image quite some dynamic. In addition I converted the image into black and white using Nik Silver Efic pro.

Enjoy and keep on photographing!

Back Portraits 01

I got the idea for this exercise from Harald Mante’s book “Serial Photography.” Go and photograph people from behind for the next two weeks.

I went to San Francisco and photographed on Market Street. There are literally hundreds of opportunity to get a great back portrait in a large city.

Creative Blur 09

I discovered this blurred reflection in a metall flower container.

Enjoy, have a Happy EasterĀ and keep on photographing!

Creative Blur 08

I used an ordinary image and divided it into four parts. each part I distorted differently using different Photoshop filters.

Enjoy and keep on creating interesting images!

Creative Blur 07

I photographed these flowers with a wide open lens giving me just a little bit of depth of field. In the original image the darker red flower on the left was in focus and the rest of the flowers were out of focus. In post production I applied a motion blur just to the flower that was in focus giving me this image.

Enjoy and keep on creating interesting images.
