I moved just a few steps to the left and got this image. I eliminated the small tree and a beautiful reflection in the window showed up.

I photographed the front porch with the small tree on the right hand side. The tree creates some depth of field.

This time I photographed the house without the fence. Compare the other two images with this one. What has changed? How does it feel? Does the image look flat?

I photographed the house before sunrise. The light was very soft. I kept part of the fence in the image to get a strong feeling of depth. Enjoy and keep on photographing!

 

I ask you to pick a special building and photograph the outside or parts of the outside. Many people refer to as the facade of the house. This is an interesting word because it basically means “face” of the house. It is what determines how the house looks like. As always have fun with this exercise!

I picked the Wilson-McConnell house in Columbia, CA. This house was used to create the famous western High Noon. I photographed the house early in the morning catching the sun peaking over the roof.
