“Hoa Vien” – first I thought, this name means “Heaven”. But the correct translation is “Flowers”.
The building was interesting…
…and the location fantastic.
…but not all business ideas work.
You can’t ride a dead horse – so bury your dream!

In Mui Ne (Vietnam) I discovered an abandoned former beer pub, probably somehow with German roots. Although the name does not clearly indicate these roots.
I entered – and suddenly met the guard an his dog.
A hand-rolled cigarette with my German tobacco broke the ice and I was allowed to photograph this location.
So, stay tuned.

The promised portraits of my host. For me, the second photo is the more intense – what do you think?

On my round trips through Vietnam I have always loved the 3-day bathing break in Mui Ne (the beach I have always seen only 10 minutes – but I had 3 days free space to photograph in the village). One evening on the way back to my hotel, I came across this house/hut with very loud music coming from it. And I entered – unasked. And met a man who was spending his after-work hours doing karaoke (very popular in Asia).
His wife and a neighbor joined him and we had tea – although we couldn’t talk, it was a very charming evening. And I managed to get 2 really nice portraits of my host – but I will show them in the next week. So, stay tuned!
