Harris Springs, Lost Places

Harris Springs is an old logging camp from the now defunct McCloud River Lumber Company. The lumber company started in the late 1800’s and continued until sold in the 1960’s. Until the 1940’s much of the logging was done by railroad spurs, quickly put up and taken down as needed.

About traveling

…and about “Lost places”, our topic for next week.

In Mui Ne (Vietnam) I discovered an abandoned former beer pub, probably somehow with German roots. Although the name does not clearly indicate these roots.

I entered – and suddenly met the guard an his dog.

A hand-rolled cigarette with my German tobacco broke the ice and I was allowed to photograph this location.

So, stay tuned.

Bauhaus

Somewhere in Montana …

Beartooth Highway – one of the most scenic drives in the United States. Located in the southern part of Montana towards Wyoming, a road built in 1937 and with an elevation of 10947 feet one of the highest Mountain Pass Roads in the Rocky Mountains. The road climbs up with many switchbacks, steep drop-offs and majestic mountain peaks.

Rainy Day

I was going through some unpublished photos the other day and found this one that I never posted. I quickly took this picture of my boyfriend changing the windshield wipers on his truck in the rain. I like how the raindrops are the only thing in focus while the actual subject of the image remains in the background. Hopefully this image reminds you of cooler days as we begin our summer!
