Prachtvoll
Prächtig sind diese Treppenaufgänge in der Dresdner Semperoper (oben) und im Zwinger (unten) gestaltet.
Wie viele andere Gebäude der Stadt wurden auch diese durch heftige Luftangriffe während des zweiten Weltkriegs in weiten Teilen zerstört und nach und nach wieder aufgebaut.
These staircases in the Dresden Semperoper (above) and the Zwinger (below) are magnificently designed.
Like many other buildings in the city, these were largely destroyed by heavy air raids during the Second World War and were gradually rebuilt.

Letzten Samstag fand zum sechsten Mal die “Gifhorner Automeile” statt. Auf einem ziemlich großen Areal gab es jede Menge Fahrzeuge zu bestaunen, eine Augenweide für jeden Oldtimer-Liebhaber.
Last Saturday, the “Gifhorn Car Mile” took place for the sixth time. There were plenty of vehicles to marvel at in a fairly large area, a feast for the eyes for every classic car enthusiast.

For centuries, this stone lion has been guarding the northern side portal of the Romanesque imperial cathedral in Königslutter together with a counterpart. And then this: at the cathedral festival last Sunday, it has to act as a cup holder.

Olmsted Point
Tioga pass recently opened in Yosemite NP. David invited us to cross over to the east side of the Sierra Nevada. On our way we stopped at Olmsted Point, a favorite tourist stop on Tioga pass.
These people were looking at a display of the Sierra Nevada.
Some people were exploring the rocky landscape at 8200ft (2500m) elevation.
Others simply enjoyed the sunshine.

Am letzten Wochenende fand in Braunschweig wieder das Straßenmusikfestival “buskers” statt. Künstler aus vielen Ländern traten an Spielstätten in der gesamten Innenstadt auf. Das “Flame Rain Theatre” aus Österreich zeigte eine unterhaltsame Feuershow mit Spezialeffekten, Akrobatik und viel Humor.
The street music festival “buskers” took place again last weekend in Braunschweig. Artists from many countries performed at venues throughout the city center. The “Flame Rain Theatre” from Austria put on an entertaining fire show with special effects, acrobatics and plenty of humor.
