This is the bark of an ancient Sequoia tree. See how the diagonal line also divides the structure of the bark.
Enjoy and keep on photographing!

This week I would like to continue to photograph structure, but totally different. Last weeks exercise dealt with man made structures and forms. This weeks we want to take a good look into mother nature’s structures. Since color can get into the way sometimes I want you to do this exercise in black and white. Go out onto your local park or forest and photograph the structure of tree bark. As always, enjoy this exercise!
This is the structure of a large fir tree which I photographed in the high Sierra Nevada. Enjoy!
Let us continue to work on last weeks exercise. If you have not done so, please visit a shopping center and create some great images! It can be very challenging but it is also a lot of fun.
You will discover many elements of composing an image like the repetition in this image.
Enjoy and keep on photographing!
