Tioga pass recently opened in Yosemite NP. David invited us to cross over to the east side of the Sierra Nevada. On our way we stopped at Olmsted Point, a favorite tourist stop on Tioga pass.
These people were looking at a display of the Sierra Nevada.
Some people were exploring the rocky landscape at 8200ft (2500m) elevation.
Others simply enjoyed the sunshine.

Vergangene Woche war ich für ein paar Tage auf der nordfriesischen Insel Sylt. Auch um diese Jahreszeit werden die Strände für die verschiedensten Aktivitäten und Hobbys genutzt.

Normalerweise geht man durch das Gelände des Mühlenmuseums in Gifhorn. Aber ein Spaziergang um das Museum herum eröffnet ganz neue Perspektiven. So hatte ich die “Kirche des Heiligen Nikolaus” noch nicht gesehen.
Normally you walk through the grounds of the mill museum in Gifhorn. But a walk around the museum opens up completely new perspectives. I hadn’t seen the “Church of St. Nicholas” like this before.
In den letzten Jahren war der Heidesee bei Gifhorn durch mehrere trockene Sommer völlig ausgetrocknet, weil er keinen Zufluss hat.
In recent years, the Heidesee near Gifhorn has dried up completely due to several dry summers, because it has no inflow.
Doch während der vergangenen Wochen hat es immer wieder lang anhaltend geregnet. Und voilà: Der See ist wieder aufgetaucht.

Am Sonntag bin ich mit einer kleinen Gruppe im Eyßelforst/Gifhorn gewandert und war erstaunt, wie sich die Natur in den Morgenstunden nach einer frostigen Nacht zeigt.
On Sunday I went hiking with a small group in the Eyßelforst/Gifhorn and was amazed at how nature reveals itself in the morning hours after a frosty night.
