At night I poured some water into a translucent bowl. I used a few books to raise the arrangement and added a few drops of oil into the water. The I picked some colorful backgrounds on my tablet which I arranged underneath the raised water bowl. Now I stirred the oil in the water and started photographing. Enjoy!

Herbstblumen
Even if autumn is now noticeably arriving, there are still plants that bloom. Like here on my balcony the red flax and the bud of a magnificent bindweed. The bloom unfortunately lasts only a few days, but they are always splashes of color between the already faded other wild plants that I have sown this year.
Sonnenstern
Last weekend, Bernd and I were out and about taking railroad photos. The Lokpark Braunschweig had opened its doors for a family day. And there were also motifs in which railroads play only a supporting role. And the alienation was just fun for me.

Mushrooms
Fall is the time of mushrooms. I always admire people who disappear into the forest, come back with a bag of mushrooms, use them to prepare a nice dinner and …. survive. I can only take pictures, and I would not even believe Google, who tells me that this is a Tapinella atromentrosa or Velvet rolltrim. If this is the case, it would not be edible and probably poisonous.
Change of the Season
I took this photo of the trees’ reflection in the water, and turned it upside down. I thought this image was a great one to post for the start of the fall season! Happy fall!
Fall’s A-comin’
After a very long, hot, smoky, dusty and just plain miserable summer, fall has finally arrived. If the weather doesn’t indicate it, at least the calendar does. This picture was taken a few years ago of El Capitan from a little different perspective.
Ward Charcoal Ovens
I’ve seen these type of ovens from a distance but never up close. They are fairly common in certain locals. In fact Utah is call the Bee Hive state in recognition of this type of charcoal oven. These aren’t in Utah, but in White Pine County, Nevada. An interesting area with more to see than you might think.
The inside of the ovens intrigued me with how much work went into getting all the various layers to fit since the wall are about 18″ thick.
Sunset at the Merced River at Hatfield State Park
For California, the old bridge over the Merced River, built in 1910, is very old. Closed for traffic and not maintained for several decades, the steel framing of the bridge is still in pretty good shape, hardly any corrosion.
