Miniaturwelt
Vor zwei Tagen fiel mir zufällig mein altes Sony 30 mm Makro-Objektiv in die Hände. Eines dieser Objektive, die man mal gekauft, aber so gut wie nie benutzt hat. Zeit also, es mal wieder einzusetzen. Ein paar “Models” waren auf meinen Balkonpflanzen auch schnell gefunden.
Two days ago, my old Sony 30mm macro lens happened to fall into my hands. One of those lenses that you bought once, but hardly ever used. So it was time to use it again. A few “models” were quickly found on my balcony plants.

Hamburg per pedes
Am Wochenende war ich für ein paar Tage in Hamburg und bin bei sehr sommerlichen Temperaturen touristisch unterwegs gewesen: am Hafen, an der Alster, auf St. Pauli.
At the weekend I was in Hamburg for a few days and was touristy in very summery temperatures: at the harbor, at the Alster, on St. Pauli.

The other night, a severe lightning storm swept through the entire Central Valley. I quickly got this unedited image, and I like how it appears to have a portal effect in the sky. It was a little scary to be out there, but I’m glad I was able to get at least one interesting image. Enjoy!
The Grand Canyon
Another stop on my vacation. As anyone who has been there knows, no photograph can capture the beauty and grandeur of the Grand Canyon.
Rock Art
An unknown artist created these rock formation at Asilomar state beach in central California. For me it was a great opportunity to photograph.
Feste feiern
Schützenfeste haben in Deutschland eine lange Tradition. Da wird nicht nur der Schützenkönig(in) gekürt, sondern da gibt es auch Umzüge, Tanzveranstaltungen und natürlich den Rummelplatz mit den Fahrgeschäften, den Buden mit Getränken und allen möglichen Schlemmereien. Anke und ich sind vor kurzem über das Schützenfest in unserer Nachbarstadt Gifhorn geschlendert. Immer wieder eine schöne Gelegenheit ein paar Eindrücke mit der Kamera festzuhalten.
Schützenfeste have a long tradition in Germany. Not only is the king of marksmen crowned, but there are also parades, dances and, of course, the fairground with the rides, the stalls with drinks and all kinds of delicacies. Anke and I recently strolled through the Schützenfest in our neighboring town of Gifhorn. Always a nice opportunity to capture a few impressions with the camera.
