The San Joaquin Valley is covered in thick fog at the time.
I did an early morning drive to the Foothills of the Sierra.
Suddenly I broke through this thick layer of soft white fog and was gifted with these great views.
The sun just breaking through the trees and a view down into the Valley covered with a layer of Whiteness.

A few days ago, I drove to the Eastern Side of the Sierra to see if the Aspens have changed their colors already. I was driving across Sonora Pass and found quite a few yellow Aspens along the road. But the colors are not quite right yet.
On my way back west via Tioga Pass I stopped at Tenaya Lake and fell in love with this view.
This week I joined Friedhelm and Wolfgang for an evening to photograph stars at the Rogge Mountain Ranch.
It was an enjoyable night with my first attempt to capture Star Trails.
The scenery and the views on top of the mountain were incredible with many photo opportunities.
In Chicken, Alaska I found the historic Pedro Gold Dredge.
The Dredge operated originally in Fairbanks, Alaska until 1958, but was then moved to Chicken, where it mined gold until 1958.
Today it is at its final destination at the Chicken Gold Camp & Outpost.
The Alcan Highway was built during World War II to connect the lower 48 States to Alaska. With its length of 2232 km/1387 miles the Highway starts in Dawson Creek in British Columbia, crosses through the Yukon and ends in Delta Junction in Alaska.
I’ve traveled this Highway several times and am on this road again.
And again I’m overwhelmed by the Beauty and Lonesomeness of this road and the Serenity of the Lakes along.
The Rockies in Northern British Columbia
On the Caribou Highway today, on my way to the Alcan Highway, I reached the Rocky Mountains in Northern British Columbia.
On rural roads in Canada and Alaska, sometimes hidden behind trees and bushes, I found a variety of buildings in the last stages of their existence.
However, the beauty of these buildings is undeniable.
A few days ago, I drove to the Sierra to take photos of the burnt area of the French Fire. I stopped at the area where the fire crossed Hwy 140.
The area where the fire has burnt the landscape is completely destroyed.
