A Sparrow in the Hand and a Dove on the Roof

Like the photo of the gentleman I published last week, I saw this woman in Paris as well, near the Eiffel Tower, in 1980. She was talking to the birds, which obviously were both her friends and the joy of her heart.

Better some sparrows in your hands…

There’s a German saying: “Better to have a sparrow in your hands, rather than a dove on your roof”. This French Gentleman near Sacre Ceur in Paris in 1976 was obviously happy to act accordingly. This snapshot brought me my first photographic award and made me both proud and happy.
