Einladend

“Nachtfotografie”, unser Thema in dieser Woche, ist ja eigentlich irreführend. Genau genommen fotografieren wir ja die Lichter, die Beleuchtungen, die uns Orientierung in der Dunkelheit geben. Oder uns, wie diese Gaststätten mit ihren Lichtern, zu einem geselligen Abend einladen.

“Night photography”, our theme this week, is actually misleading. Strictly speaking, we are photographing the lights, the illuminations that give us orientation in the dark. Or, like these restaurants with their lights, invite us to a sociable evening.

Farbenprächtig

Anke und ich waren am Samstag in Königslutter bei der Sommernacht am Kaiserdom. Eine gelungene Veranstaltung im und um den Dom mit interessanter, abwechslungsreicher Musik auf fünf Bühnen, von denen zwei im angrenzenden Park standen. Mit zunehmender Dunkelheit entfaltete der Park mit seinen beleuchteten Wegen, der tollen Dekoration und natürlich mit seinen Lichtinstallationen, dem künstlichen Nebel auf den Teichen, eine besondere Stimmung. Eine Stimmung, die hoffentlich mit den Bildern ein wenig rüber kommt.

Anke and I were in Königslutter on Saturday for the summer night at the Kaiserdom. A successful event in and around the cathedral with interesting, varied music on five stages, two of which were in the adjacent park. As darkness fell, the park created a special atmosphere with its illuminated paths, fantastic decorations and, of course, its light installations and artificial fog on the ponds. A mood that hopefully comes across a little in the pictures.

Weihnachtsimpressionen

Weihnachten steht vor der Tür und das Jahr 2022 neigt sich seinem Ende zu. Mit diesen Impressionen aus der Autostadt in Wolfsburg möchte ich allen ein schönes und friedliches Weihnachtsfest wünschen.

Christmas is just around the corner and the year 2022 is drawing to a close. With these impressions from the Autostadt in Wolfsburg I would like to wish everyone a nice and peaceful Christmas.

Alte Villa

Das ist die ehemalige Villa Züchner in Bad Lauterberg im Harz. Sie wurde Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts erbaut und von der Fabrikantenfamilie Züchner als Sommerresidenz genutzt. Nach Sanierung und Umbau entstanden mehrere Appartements für Patienten der benachbarten Kirchberg Klinik. Mich hat das Gebäude aber auch irgendwie an Alfred Hitchcocks Thriller “Psycho” aus dem Jahr 1960 erinnert. Ein Grund dafür das Bild in SW zu machen.
This is the former Villa Züchner in Bad Lauterberg in the Harz Mountains. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century and used as a summer residence by the Züchner family of factory owners. After renovation and reconstruction, several apartments were built for patients of the neighboring Kirchberg Clinic. But the building also reminded me somehow of Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller “Psycho” from 1960. A reason to make the picture in black and white.

Noch mehr Schirme

Anke erzählte ja bereits gestern, dass wir beide endlich mal wieder ein Konzert besuchen konnten. Corona bedingt kam doch längere Zeit das kulturelle Leben fast völlig zum erliegen. Aber so allmählich regt es sich wieder, mit neuen Ideen und Konzepten. So wie jetzt in Braunschweig. Aus der Veranstaltungsreihe “Kultur im Zelt” wurde eben “Kultur im Park”. Sozusagen von drinnen nach draußen an die frische Luft. Und wie man sieht, kann man auch einen Park toll dekorieren.
Anke already told us yesterday that we both could finally attend a concert again. Due to Corona, the cultural life came to a complete standstill for a long time. But gradually it is starting to move again, with new ideas and concepts. Just like now in Braunschweig. The event series “Culture in a tent” just became “Culture in the park”. So to speak from inside to outside into the fresh air. And as you can see, you can also decorate a park beautifully.

Kranhaus

Baukräne bestimmen zur Zeit an vielen Stellen in Wolfsburg das Straßenbild. Überall wird neu gebaut, oder wie auf diesem Bild, saniert. Mit Hilfe des Krans werden dort die Fassadenelemente abgenommen.
Construction cranes currently dominate the street scene in many places in Wolfsburg. Everywhere new buildings are being built or, as in this picture, renovated. With the help of the crane the facade elements are removed.

Am Hafen

Ein Blick von der Stadtbrücke auf den Wolfsburger Hafen am Mittellandkanal. Der kalte Wind hat an dem Abend ganz schön gepfiffen. Ich war froh, als ich wieder im Warmen war.
A view from the city bridge to the Wolfsburg harbour on the Mittelland Canal. The cold wind whistled quite a lot that evening. I was glad when I was back in the warm.
