Again, I took two exposures and combined them in post production. Enjoy and keep on working on your images!

I stopped the camera lens down a the way. While pressing the shutter I moved the camera up and down just a little bit to get this image.

This is a close-up of a fence pole. I took two exposures. The left part of the image is in focus the right part out of focus. Then I overlaid one over the other side by side and finally I used  a Topaz BuzSim filter to create this image.

This is another composition of two separate images. The first image is blurred and used as a background. The second image was totally in focus and overlaid in two separate layers where the sharp background was cut out.

This week I challenge you again to work on your background blur. I believe the influence of the bokeh on the subject is widely underestimated. Try any method you know or can think of to create a background blur.

I used two exposures to create this image. First I photographed the leave on the ground. Then I stopped the lens down and took a second shot. In post production I used the Topaz BuzSim Filter to finalize the background.

I photographed this lupine and the California poppies above the Merced river. I post production I isolated the blue and orange colors and treated them with different filters, like the watercolor filter to get this final image.

I know, technically the Azalea is not a flower but I have two bushes in my front yard and they are blooming. I used one  shrub as a background and photographed a blossom of the other.

Since I was camping I photographed wildflowers again. I challenge you to do the same this week. After all it is Spring time and they are everywhere to find!

A macro lens can produce a beautiful bokeh. Try different lenses and different F-stops to determine which bokeh works the best for your images!
