I live part time in the San Joaquin Valley of California and in the Valley of the Sun in Arizona. California and Arizona both offer great opportunities for photography. I look forward to sharing images from wherever my travels take me.
This image is from the Sistine Chapel Exhibit which is currently on display in Phoenix, Arizona. The Exhibit contains life-size renditions of Michelangelo’s frescoes that adorn the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican. This fresco depicts the prophet Isaiah who lived in the 8th century BC in Judah and foretold the death of the coming Messiah.
We’re all missing the ability to travel freely and are probably reviewing photos from past trips to relive those memories. This bicycle outside a restaurant in Rome makes me hopeful that we will soon be able to visit new places for great photo opportunities.
These older dying trees still have so much character and beauty, just as most older people do. The young trees will eventually overtake them, but the older ones will provide protection and aid them in their growth as they mature.
Our January photo assignment to depict everyday life in our town had me scratching my head. Because of Covid 19, there is no normal everyday life unfortunately. For me, the inability of children to swing, climb, slide, run and play with their friends is one of the saddest parts of our efforts to keep each other safe. I took my granddaughter to this park many times over the first few years of her life and enjoyed sitting on this bench watching her play and make new friends. I hope playgrounds everywhere will soon be filled with happy, healthy children!
This lone red rose was blooming in my yard as Christmas approaches. It was so lovely that I decided to save it permanently by photographing and sharing it. Merry Christmas!
