Years ago I was driving through Plumas National Forest in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. A heavy wildfire was burning in the area and the smoke created this supernatural hazy feeling in the Canyon. The road crosses the Canyon above a railroad bridge.

In the southern part of New Mexico – a National Park with great wave-like white sand dunes.
Just a few miles north-east of Las Vegas is a small State Park – Valley of Fire. Just past the entrance of the Park visitors are surrounded by red sandstone and white limestone. The sculptures carved by nature into the stone are visible everywhere in the Park.
