On three consecutive nights in Alaska the sky turned into a lightshow of blue, red and green. The first night was like a miracle with its steady pattern. I was even more surprised by the show the second night, when the lights moved faster in the sky. Then came the third night. The sky turned into a mesmerizing wonder of green, moving so fast that every second its appearance was a new sensation. These three nights were the most wonderful experience in my life.

A painter needs a number of items for a painting, a variety of brushes, paper or canvas and paint in tubes and in a palette. At the end, the finished painting expresses the feelings, the fear and the emotions of the painter.

On our recent trip to Death Valley National Park we drove to Wildrose Canyon to see the Charcoal Kilns, one of the historical features of this National Park.
Seven Sisters
We recently visited Valley of Fire in Nevada, a State Park with sculptures of red sandstone, which – according to Park information – was formed by shifting sand dunes 150 million years ago.
When entering the State Park from the West, short after the Entrance Gate the landscape changes totally to red rock formations.
One of these formations is called the Seven Sisters.
Antilope Valley
One of the many flowers this valley is known for is the California Poppy. Even though this year was not a super bloom, there was still a wide display of these flowrs
Dogwood in the Spring
For years I am driving to Yosemite in Spring to see the blossoms of the dogwoods. They are such beautiful flowers, no matter whether they are the white or red variety. As a surprise I found a dogwood in a nursery and planted her in our backyard. Every year I am watching her, but she was not ready to show me her blossoms. This year, however, she surprised me with this Beauty.
