Armistice Day 01

I found the following quote in Wikipedia:

U.S. President Woodrow Wilson first proclaimed Armistice Day for November 11, 1919. In proclaiming the holiday, he said

“To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations.”

Since Veterans Day (Armistice Day) is a legal holiday in the Us, please go out and photograph. See how you an capture the emotions of the day and maybe one of your images will help someone who lost a loved one during the past wars.

Armistice Day 01

1000 flags symbolize the meaning of Veterans day in Merced. I photographed them during the flags at night because I wanted to capture the long shadows. Each war brings out bravery and heroism on one side and suffering and death on the other side.

Enjoy the image and have a meaningful day!
