Photos are meant to be shared
Here’s another from the Merced Wildlife Refuge, a great place to go this time of the year. Last time I was there the geese were beginning to show up. The Sandhill Cranes were coming in in huge flights at dark. Difficult to get a good shot at a moving target when there’s very little light.

I went to the Refuge hoping to find some geese, ducks and migratory fowl. There weren’t many birds but I stuck around hoping for a good sunset. As you can see it turned out pretty well. Full moon in a couple of days. I may have to go back and see what that holds.

Bodie is one of my favorite places. An old ghost town, non-commercialized, it has a lot of charm and a lot of outhouses. It is a California State Park and they maintain it in arrested decay. Nothing new, just trying to keep what’s there safe.
I like the contrast of the Poppy against the pieces of rusty railroad junk. If you like trains Railtown 1897 in Jamestown, CA is a great state park to visit.

Burney Falls is an interesting falls. During the summer, after a mild winter the top of the falls is dry but water will still come out
of the rock face. Last winter wasn't by any means mild so there was water coming over the fall but I found the side falls where nothing was coming over the top a better photo opportunity.
I was happy and a bit surprised to see snow on the peaks around Mono Lake. It’s unusual for that time of the year. Without puffy clouds in the background the snow adds a nice white contrast.

David recently traveled to photograph in the Redwood parks in Northern California. Besides the redwood trees there are also beautiful ferns to be photographed there.
