Views from my hometown… the beauty of country living | Fall 2023

This is an image I took of the sunset a few days ago. This image doesn’t haven any extra editing done to it, this is just how vibrant the sky actually was! I’ve always loved the sunsets here in the Central Valley. Hope you enjoy!

Valley Sunset

I really like how the sun is subtly illuminating the shape of the tractor in the field. I also thought there was an interesting ombre effect with the darker shades below fading into the bright orange hues. Enjoy!

Cotton Season

My family owns a ranch here in the Central Valley, and their cotton fields did great this year. The fields looked like a blanket of snow, and it was one of the most successful crops they’ve had in years. I captured some images of the fields before they picked the cotton, and this is one of my favorites. I love the sunset in the background, and I think this image perfectly captures the beauty of the Central Valley. Enjoy!

Country Views

I took this image while taking an evening walk. I’ve always been grateful to live in the country and be able to witness views like this as the sun sets. Hopefully this image brings you feelings of peace and joy!

Sandhill Cranes at Sunset

Here’s another from the Merced Wildlife Refuge, a great place to go this time of the year. Last time I was there the geese were beginning to show up. The Sandhill Cranes were coming in in huge flights at dark. Difficult to get a good shot at a moving target when there’s very little light.

Sunset Merced Wildlife Refuge

I went to the Refuge hoping to find some geese, ducks and migratory fowl. There weren’t many birds but I stuck around hoping for a good sunset. As you can see it turned out pretty well. Full moon in a couple of days. I may have to go back and see what that holds.
