I am privileged to live close to Yosemite National Park, a place that is beautiful any time of the year. This grand oak sitting in front of the King of the park, Half Dome, is a beautiful site and one that I am drawn to, every time I visit. Enjoy your day!!!!

Hornitos All Souls Day Candle Walk.
On November 2, known as All Souls Day, in the small town of Hornitos, Ca. a procession of several hundred people carrying candles and led by a local priest leaves the downtown plaza and walks to the cemetery located behind St. Catherine’s Church to honor those family members and friends who have passed. At the cemetery, candles are placed on graves and a prayer is said. A mass is then held in the small church. It is a tradition that has been carried over every year for the past 200 years. I love to stay in the cemetery after everyone has left because it is beautiful, and gives me a moment to visit with many old friends. Enjoy your day.
Yosemite Oaks In The Fall
Fall Colors
While driving around our county this week, I came across this striking plant. This beautiful plant while one of the most avoided plants around is also one of the most colorful. Their colors are distinctive and beautiful, spring thru fall. The dreaded Poison Oak can either grow in bush form or as a vine, wrapping itself around trees, as this one chose to do. Appreciate their color at a VERY safe distance! Enjoy your day!
Fall in the Sierra Nevada High Desert
Last year at this time I met with my good friends and fellow photographers Dave and Val for some photography time in the eastern Sierra-Nevada mountain range. This area is a mixture of high elevation desert and very high elevation mountains. It is a true contradiction of gorgeous, rich foliage and dry, arid desert. This picture shows a bit of each. The fall foliage is spectacular. Enjoy your day!
