Betonschiff

Aus dieser Perspektive wirkt das von der Star-Architektin Zaha Hadid entworfene Phaeno wie ein gestrandeter Ozeanriese. Das faszinierende an diesem Gebäude ist die Formenvielfalt, mal eckig, kantig mal rund und fließend.
From this perspective, the Phaeno designed by star architect Zaha Hadid looks like a stranded ocean liner. The fascinating thing about this building is the variety of forms, sometimes angular, sometimes round and flowing.

Kranhaus

Baukräne bestimmen zur Zeit an vielen Stellen in Wolfsburg das Straßenbild. Überall wird neu gebaut, oder wie auf diesem Bild, saniert. Mit Hilfe des Krans werden dort die Fassadenelemente abgenommen.
Construction cranes currently dominate the street scene in many places in Wolfsburg. Everywhere new buildings are being built or, as in this picture, renovated. With the help of the crane the facade elements are removed.

Untergrund

Einer von zwei Zugangstunneln zum VW Werk in Wolfsburg. Gerade noch menschenleer werden sie zu den Schichtwechseln mehrmals am Tag von tausenden Mitarbeitern benutzt.

Rechts das von der Star-Architektin Zaha Hadid entworfene Phaeno, eine Experimentierlandschaft die Wissenschaft spielerisch näher bringt, links moderne Hotels. Und dazwischen, klein und im Hintergrund, der alte Bahnhof. Ein Bild wie ein Zeitstrahl.

Winterpause

Birke und Freibad sind noch in der Winterpause. Aber bei dem milden Winter wird es zumindest bei der Birke damit in zwei, drei Wochen vorbei sein. Dann wird sich das erste zarte Grün ihrer Blätter zeigen.
Birch tree and outdoor pool are still in the winter break. But with the mild winter it will be over in two or three weeks, at least for the birch. Then the first tender green of its leaves will appear.

Am Hafen

Ein Blick von der Stadtbrücke auf den Wolfsburger Hafen am Mittellandkanal. Der kalte Wind hat an dem Abend ganz schön gepfiffen. Ich war froh, als ich wieder im Warmen war.
A view from the city bridge to the Wolfsburg harbour on the Mittelland Canal. The cold wind whistled quite a lot that evening. I was glad when I was back in the warm.

Hafentheater

Hafen 1 heißt das neuste Gebäude der Autostadt Wolfsburg. Ein multifunktionaler Veranstaltungsort für Events aller Art, unter anderem für das internationale Tanztheater “Movimentos”.
Hafen 1 is the name of the newest building of the Autostadt Wolfsburg. A multifunctional venue for events of all kinds, including the international dance theatre “Movimentos”.
