Mono Lake

I served on a jury this week. At the courthouse there were a number of photographs from local artists. One was of Mono Lake and reminded me just how beautiful it is and that I need to get back there. Hopefully soon.

This was taken last year about this same time. Hope you enjoy.

Ich habe diese Woche in einer Jury gedient. Im Gerichtsgebäude gab es eine Reihe von Fotografien von lokalen Künstlern. Einer war von Mono Lake und erinnerte mich daran, wie schön es ist und dass ich dorthin zurück muss. Hoffentlich bald.

Dies wurde letztes Jahr ungefähr zur gleichen Zeit gemacht. Ich hoffe dir gefällt es.

Bodie

One of my favorite places is an old ghost town on the Eastern side of the
Sierras near Mono Lake.

It’s Bodie State Park and is an old deserted (except for Park Rangers) mining town with lots of the old character still intack. I took this a year or so ago, and hope to make it back there real soon. I like how the cloud point to the old building.

Einer meiner Lieblingsplätze ist eine alte Geisterstadt an der Ostseite der
Sierras in der Nähe von Mono Lake.
Es ist Bodie State Park und ist eine alte verlassene (außer Park Rangers) Bergbaustadt mit vielen alten Charakter noch Intack. Ich habe das vor einem Jahr oder so gemacht und hoffe, dass ich es bald wieder schaffen werde.

Sharing

I caught these three sharing a meal provided by a Dandelion near the upper portion of the Sacramento River just out side of Mt. Shasta, while taking a little hike with my brother.

Dogwood

While in Northern California, the real Northern California (Siskiyou County) I was lucky enough to catch some blooming Dogwoods.

They’re a beautiful flower but what we call the petals are really just special leaves.

The Master At Work

Friedhelm and I took a quick trip to the Merced Wildlife Refuge where we were looking for wildflowers. Looks like he found one.

It’s hard to spot but there’s a flash just in front of the tripod.

Cabin Creek

Cabin Creek is a tributary to the McCloud River in Northern California near where the Pacific Coast Trail passes through southern Siskiyou County.

Mt Shasta

I was born and raised in a small town in far Northern California. I never really appreciated the area until I moved away. This was taken from an area just south of Mc Cloud where I lived.

Mt Shasta is a ‘mystical’ mountain. Some of the lore I’m sure comes from the lenticular clouds that form around it. Alien space craft coming in for a landing.

Ich bin in einer kleinen Stadt in Nordkalifornien geboren und aufgewachsen. Ich habe die Gegend nie wirklich geschätzt, bis ich weggezogen bin. Dies wurde aus einem Gebiet südlich von Mc Cloud, wo ich lebte, genommen.

Mt Shasta ist ein "mystischer" Berg. Ein Teil der Überlieferung stammt sicher aus den linsenförmigen Wolken, die sich darum bilden. Ausländisches Raumfahrzeug, das für eine Landung hereinkommt.
