New Leaves on my Pomegranate Tree
My pomegranate tree has new leaves. I photographed them after sunset using a continuous light source that I normally use for videos. The advantage of this light is that you can regulate the color temperature.

Water Fantasy
I was photographing splashing water at a small waterfall in Yosemite Valley. Many times I opted for longer exposure times to smooth out the water. This time I tried something different. First, I picked a very fast shutter speed to freeze the water. Then I took a second shot out of focus. The sun reflected in the water and the second image was full of interesting reflective bubbles. In post I overlaid the second, out of focus image over the first image, aligned the images and created a mask to reveal the bubbles to my hearts content. Enjoy!
Horsetail Fall
Each year in February the sun illuminates the Horsetail Fall in Yosemite National Park creating the impression of a “Fire Fall”. Of course many photographers are trying to capture the moment since Galen Rowell did so in 1973.
Since the clouds moved in in the afternoon I was just about ready to give up and drive home when suddenly the sun rays broke through the clouds. I was very happy capturing this image!
Almond Blossom
I discovered the first Almond blossoms this morning. While many parts of the Eastern US experience winter conditions, Spring has started in Central California. Enjoy the seasons and the image!

Life in my City
Life is very restricted during the COVID pandemic. Many people lost their lives and the images in Washington, DC shocked us all. Despite all these heartbreaking event there is life, hope and joy breaking through! A mother is playing with her child in a park in my hometown, Merced, CA. For me this is an image of joy and hope!
