Photos are meant to be shared
Wenn ich so mit der Kamera durch die Stadt laufe, versuche ich Bilder zu machen, die ihre Geschichte selbst erzählen und für die ich häufig auch schon eine Überschrift im Kopf habe. Bei den beiden Bilder fiel mir gleich der Titel “auf Distanz” ein.
When I walk through the city with my camera, I try to take pictures that tell their own story and for which I often already have a caption in mind. With the two pictures I immediately thought of the title “at a distance”.
Ich bin ja ein großer Fan von toll gestalteten Schaufenstern. Da kann ich einfach nicht daran vorbeigehen, ohne ein paar Fotos zu machen. So wie bei diesen hier, die ich zu einer Collage zusammengefasst habe.
I am a big fan of great designed shop windows. Since I just can not go past it without taking a few photos. As with these here, which I have combined into a collage.
Was ist ein “Lost Place”? Für mich ein Platz, an dem Dinge darauf warten, vielleicht irgendwann wieder verwendet zu werden. Und während sie so warten, nagt der Zahn der Zeit an ihnen.
What is a “lost place”? For me, a place where things are waiting to be used again, perhaps at some point. And while they wait like that, the ravages of time gnaw away at them.

Dieses niederländische Familie hatte auf ihrem Frachtschiff alles an Bord um zu Land, oder zu Wasser mobil zu sein: Auto, Motorrad, Motorboot. Also für jeden Einsatzzweck etwas dabei.
This Dutch family had everything on board their cargo ship to be mobile on land or water: Car, motorcycle, motorboat. So for every purpose something there.
Eigentlich ein sinnfreies Foto. Es ist nur eine Wendeltreppe, die ins Untergeschoss führt. Trotzdem hat mich das Ganze mit seinen Farben und Strukuren zu einem Foto animiert.
Actually a meaningless photo. It is only a spiral staircase that leads to the basement. Nevertheless, the whole thing with its colors and structures animated me to take a photo.
Am 4.6.2023 war bei uns Vollmond. Zu sehen gab es einen seltenen Erdbeermond. Der Vollmond im Juni wird, wohl je nach Färbung, als Honig-, Rosen-, oder Erdbeermond bezeichnet. Wußte ich vorher auch nicht. Auf jeden Fall habe ich mich spontan nachts um Zwei auf den Balkon gestellt und den Mond fotografiert. Tja, so sieht er halt aus, der Erdbeermond.
On 4.6.2023 was full moon with us. To see there was a rare strawberry moon. The full moon in June is called, probably depending on coloring, as honey, rose, or strawberry moon. I did not know before. In any case I have placed myself spontaneously at night at two on the balcony and have photographed the moon. Well, so he looks just, the strawberry moon.
Am Pfingsmontag war wieder Flohmarkt in der Stadt. So etwas ist natürlich immer eine gute Gelegenheit um in all dem Trödel nach Interessantem zu stöbern. Obendrein gibt es auch genug Gelegenheiten, um den ein oder anderen Schnappschuss zu machen.
On Whit Monday was again flea market in the city. Such a thing is of course always a good opportunity to rummage in all the junk for interesting things. On top of that, there are also enough opportunities to take the one or other snapshot.
Solche Bahnstrecken, die scheinbar bis zum Horizont laufen, haben doch etwas anziehendes. Der Blick wird in die Ferne gezogen und irgendwie erwartet man, dass gleich ein Zug auftaucht. Was hier natürlich nicht passiert. Es ist Sonntag und das hier ist eine Nebenstrecke, da kommt nur jede Stunde ein Zug.
Such railroad lines, which seem to run to the horizon, have something attractive. The view is drawn into the distance and somehow you expect that a train will appear soon. Which of course does not happen here. It’s Sunday and this is a branch line, there comes only every hour a train.
