Diesen gut und gerne 60 Jahre alten DKW Junior habe ich im Schaufenster einer kleinen Werkstatt in Bad Salzdetfurth entdeckt. Sehr schön erhalten und wie es aussieht, immer noch fahrbereit.
I discovered this 60 year old DKW Junior in the shop window of a small workshop in Bad Salzdetfurth. Very nicely preserved and by the looks of it, still ready to drive.
Since most of the Netherlands are below sea level an intricate system of dykes, locks and barriers is necessary to prevent flooding. To test the installations an open air laboratory was created. Scale models of coastal fortifications, ports and shorelines were tested with machines constructed to create flood waves and coastal currents. The laboratory was not only used to test layouts for Dutch building projects but also for foreign clients. That way tests for the ports in Bangkok, Thyboran or Lybia were carried out. For years the facilities decayed and were recovered by the surrounding forest. Today it is a national monument and the most important devices are restored.

Recently went up north to see my brother, I stopped at the Sacramento Wildlife Refuge both going and coming. Going up I didn’t see any eagles, coming back I saw three. It was quite cold so I’m thinking all had their feathers kinda puffed up to help keep warm.
The Almond trees are blooming in central California. I cut a small branch, picked a blue background, mounted my camera on a camera rail and took 34 `exposures a millimeter apart. In post I combined the images to create this image. Enjoy!

Die sogenannte “Blaue Stunde” machte hier ihrem Namen alle Ehre. Dazu kam, dass nach einer längeren Regenphase an diesem Tag auch mal wieder die Sonne zu sehen war und der Sonnenuntergang entsprechend farbenprächtig ausfiel.
The so-called “blue hour” lived up to its name here. In addition, after a long period of rain, the sun was visible again on this day and the sunset was accordingly colorful.
