Giethoorn
Giethoorn is called the Venice of the Netherlands. If so, it is a very rural Venice. Old Farmhouses line the canal, which serves as Main street. Most are used as accomodation for tourists. In summer the canals are filled with excursion boats and the foot paths with lightly dressed tourists. In winter everything is closed. The local band “de flagellanten” play in the last pub which stays open, and the only open hotel has plenty of space. On a nice November day this is the time to come here.
White Sands National Park
In the southern part of New Mexico – a National Park with great wave-like white sand dunes.

I was going through my older photos and realized that I never posted this image. I like how small my parents appear in the photo compared to the vast mountains. Enjoy!
Places I Cherish
My dear friend and photo partner Val was here for a short visit but managed a trip to Merced National Wildlife Refuge with me. It was a wonderful way to spend our time together. A day at a place I cherish with a friend I cherish. What could be better? Stay safe and stay healthy.

Wenn draußen der kalte Wind pfeift und der Regen peitscht, bleibe ich am liebsten drinnen. Auch dort kann man mit wenig Aufwand und etwas Fantasie interessante Fotos machen.
When the cold wind whistles outside and the rain lashes, I prefer to stay indoors. Even there you can make interesting photos with little effort and a little fantasy.
