Route 66

Just a bit of color along the old Route 66 Near Oldtown AZ

Carrizo Plains is located west of Bakersfield and North of Los Angeles. After the rainy winter this area comes to live. The hills are full of wildflowers and the normally very quiet and pipeful landscape is suddenly changed into a tourist attraction.

About traveling

and about Ranthambore, a small village in Rajasthan, India. Nearby is a tiger reserve and many tourists visit – but usually avoid the village with its charming and friendly inhabitants.

Aufgeblasen

Neben den bemalten Riesenostereiern, die Anke gestern schon gezeigt hatte, gibt es in diesem Jahr auch riesige aufgeblasene Hasen und Blüten in der Autostadt zu sehen.

In addition to the painted giant Easter eggs that Anke had already shown yesterday, this year there are also giant inflated bunnies and flowers to be seen in the Autostadt.

Happy Easter

In der Autostadt geht es kurz vor Ostern ziemlich bunt zu.

Things are getting pretty colorful in the Autostadt just before Easter.

Winter light

February and March are my favorite months for taking pictures. The leaveless trees offer unimpeded view of what is hidden in summer. In addition the barren branches add some drama to the pictures. The light is still low, weak and usually there is some haze in the air. Together with the long shadows this hopefully makes the pictures more interesting. The hazy streets and long shadows remind of the black and white pictures taken in the time between the wars.
