Bus stop

In Venice, Vaporettos have the role of buses. Covered platforms serve as water bus stops. Some of the water buses have open spaces at the bow and prow. If you manage to get a seat there, this is the perfect spot for sightseeing.

In summer the bus stops are packed with tourists
In the canal grande the windows of the bus stops reflect the magnificent palaces
With the amount of traffic it is a miracle that boats do not frequently collide

Yes Virginia there are fall colors on the Eastside

Wolfgang, Friedhelm and I took a quick trip to the east side of the Sierras in part to look for fall colors. Friedhelm suggested we go to a place I’d never been before. We gave him a pretty hard time about there better be some color. Well I hate to admit it but he was right.

Wolfgang, Friedhelm und ich machten einen Abstecher an die Ostseite der Sierras, teilweise um nach Herbstfarben zu suchen. Friedhelm schlug vor, an einen Ort zu gehen, an dem ich noch nie gewesen war. Wir haben es ihm ziemlich schwer gemacht, weil es besser etwas Farbe geben sollte. Nun, ich hasse es, es zuzugeben, aber er hatte recht.

I liked how these three leaved formed a heart, I just wish they had turned yellow like so many around them.

Mir gefiel, wie diese drei Blätter ein Herz bildeten, ich wünschte nur, sie wären gelb geworden wie so viele um sie herum.
