About traveling

The last few weeks I’ve been documenting a district in Hamburg (“Mümmelmannsberg”) in my free time, very interesting because the architectural style of the 1960s reminds me a lot of Detmerode and Westhagen in my home town of Wolfsburg. I found a work of art there with the question: Warum reisen wir? – Why are we traveling? A question that is worth thinking about, I think. And there are certainly many individual answers. What is your answer?

Playing in the streets

On an overcast and misty morning I cycle through the water gate into the historic center of the lovely town of Zaltbommel. It is sunday  and there is hardly anybody in the street and everything is quiet. But then I turn around a corner and hear the sound of a barrel organ. I follow the sound down the street and meet Peter, who is playing an organ in front of his house.

Feelings

Our photo assignment two weeks ago was feelings and I had difficulty finding something that would work since I am primarily a landscape/nature photographer. This is an older photograph of my grandson and an older rescue dog that turned out to be the sweetest girl and she loved him. He was rummaging through a box and she leaned over and gave him a kiss on the ear with her face showing nothing but love. It was an “awe” moment for me then, and still is to this day. Stay healthy and enjoy your day.
