I am blessed to live on a piece of property that can sometimes produce prolific wildflowers. This is an Owl’s clover, a very beautiful and colorful plant. Have a wonderful day.
Tiny Flower
Another flower from our trip to Kings Canyon-Sequoia National Park.
While the last flower was fairly abundant (see last Saturdays post) I saw very few of this one. It was very tiny, this cluster was about the size of a quarter and very low to the ground. Once again I had trouble identifying it. Maybe the altitude plays a roll in it being so small. My wildflower books seem to favor longer stemmed flowers.

Eine weitere Blume von unserer Reise zum Kings Canyon-Sequoia National Park.
Während die letzte Blume ziemlich üppig war (siehe letzte samstags Post), sah ich nur sehr wenige von diesem. Es war sehr winzig, dieser Cluster war ungefähr so groß wie ein Viertel und sehr niedrig zu Boden. Wieder einmal hatte ich Schwierigkeiten, es zu identifizieren. Vielleicht spielt die Höhe eine Rolle, da Sie so klein ist. Meine Wildblumen Bücher scheinen länger gezogene Blumen zu bevorzugen.

Die Welt steht Kopf
Da ich zur Zeit wegen einer Knieverletzung nichts unternehmen kann, habe ich kurzerhand auf meinem Balkon ein wenig mit meiner Glaskugel experimentiert.

Friedhelm and I went to Kings Canyon-Sequoia National Park. A couple of hikes, friendship and some photography.
Walking along I saw this flower. Most of the time I see flowers and the whole plant seems to be pretty much at the same stage. Not this one, we have buds, flowers and seeds all at once. Over time this little beauty is going to spread a lot of seeds.

While normally upright and open, I found these on a morning outing after it had rained during the night. I loved the appearance of the gracefully drooping flowers and the delicate look of the petals with the rain drops.
Buck Rock Fire Outlook
Buck Rock, located inside Kings Canyon National Park, is still used as a fire look out for the Central California Sierra Nevada Mountains. The Rock itself is at about 8,500f elevation and reachable only on a dirt road. Can you image yourself on top of this rock in the middle of a thunderstorm?

Werksbus
Zum Stadtjubiläum von Wolfsburg stand dieser wunderbar restaurierte alte Bus (Baujahr 1955) der Marke Büssing als Ausstellungsstück in der Festmeile. Dies Busse waren füher ein alltäglicher Anblick, betrieb doch Volkswagen eigene Buslinien mit diesen blauen “Werksbussen”. Von 1955 an mehr als zwanzig Jahre lang konnten die Volkswagen-Mitarbeiter mit diesen Bussen zur Arbeit fahren. Ein Stück Stadtgeschichte.
This beautifully restored old bus (built in 1955) from the Büssing brand was on display in the festival mile on the occasion of Wolfsburg’s city anniversary. These buses used to be an everyday sight, as Volkswagen operated its own bus lines with these blue “factory buses”. From 1955 onwards, Volkswagen employees were able to drive with these buses to work for more than twenty years. A piece of city history.
